Makeup Looks We Love: Jonathan Simkhai

Beauty got edgy when Revlon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman created an innovative look for Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall/Winter ’14 Collection at New York Fashion Week.

Backstage, Gucci Westman, went slightly darker around the eyes with an onyx eyeshadow peppered with flecks of green.  This effect was complimented by bare skin with a subtle flush on cheeks and a nude lip for Jonathan Simkhai’s Fall/Winter ’14 collection.

According to Westman, "this look is all about a sporty and edgy eye. I did a take on the smoky eye and mixed different textured shadows so that it was a little less overdone then the typical smoky eye.” She further explained, “I used a crème shadow with a tint of green in it and mixed it with a black powder shadow to achieve a more transparent look that really goes with the texture of Jonathan’s clothing this season. I really wanted the eye to be bold and to compliment the clothes, so I kept everything else simple.”
