Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell
Osborne were named the winners of the Council of Fashion Designers of
America/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, so the stakes were high for Westman. She decided to go for a subtle and
natural makeup look to compliment the high wattage collection.
“This look is all about the skin feeling luminous and
natural. I wanted the look to be effortless, easy and have a really healthy
glow” says Westman. “I was inspired by an enhanced version of the girl next
door, but more of a raw yet gorgeous tomboy. I used skinlights on the cheeks to
get a dewy glow and no mascara. The look is an enhanced version of what
she would already look like—ultra natural and cool, which works very well with
Public School’s Fall collection.”
